Melissa Lawton is responsible for Live Sports Production Strategy at Facebook. She’s charged with helping Facebook’s partners redefine the live sports viewing experience to foster deeper and more meaningful connections between fans and the broadcasters, teams, leagues and athletes they follow. In this role, Melissa will design production strategies that inspire partners to fully leverage the interactive and social potential of video on Facebook. She’ll also work closely with the Facebook product team to develop the tools partners need to deliver sports broadcasts for the next generation of fans.
Melissa joined Facebook after five years as the Head of Live Content at Red Bull Media House, working specifically on the creation and expansion of Red Bull’s media network, Red Bull TV. In this capacity, she oversaw a global production team that produced premium, live third-party sports, music and culture events and many ‘beyond the ordinary’ Red Bull competitions across the globe.

Bhavesh Patel is currently the Chief Digital Officer at beIN Media Group based in Paris. He is working on building their next generation global OTT platform and driving innovation across the group. Prior, Bhavesh was an OTT strategy advisor for CBS Studios International and Verizon Go90, headed up Betfair’s US horserace wagering business, and led the launch of FOX Soccer 2 Go and NBA International League Pass.
Kim joined the Foxtel Group in 2019 after spending two seasons at Cricket Australia as Head of Big Bash Leagues (BBL), which included delivering the first ever standalone Women’s BBL final with a sold-out crowd. Prior to this, she spent 15 years with PepsiCo, most recently as Head of Sports Marketing based at their global HQ in New York, leading initiatives such as the Pepsi Superbowl Halftime Show. Kim was appointed Marketing Director of Kayo Sports in October 2020, leading brand management and go to market strategy for Australia’s leading sports streaming business.

Widely-respected as one of the leading sports executives in the world, Francis was largely responsible for establishing Sky Sports as the leading UK sport broadcaster during his 20-year spell with the organization. As Managing Director, he grew the channel offering from 5 channels to 11, adding premium sports such as Formula 1, the Masters, The Open and NBA to the portfolio while also increasing the number of Premier League matches shown on Sky. Jason Thibeault is the Executive Director of the Streaming Video Alliance, a global technical association of companies collaborating to solve critical challenges in delivering a better streaming video experience at scale. He is a recognized expert voice in the streaming industry and is a contributing editor to Streaming Media Magazine. Jason is also the co-founder of Datazoom, a startup focused on homogenizing streaming video data collecting and increasing the speed of data acquisition. Prior to his current role, Jason spent eight years at Limelight Networks, a leading CDN, where he held several roles including product manager and marketing strategist. Post this I left deltatre to set up an OTT business unit at IMG which later became Endeavor Streaming- we launched 4 d2c OTT products to the market in the space of 18 months including the successful Strive football channel. I currently acquire streaming rights for commercialisation in the betting industry for Stats Perform. Born in Berlin, Dennis Galejski studied Sports Science and Economics at the German Sport University in Cologne and at times at State University of New York, College at Cortland. Dennis holds a diploma in Sport Economics and various post-graduate certificates from the UEFA and Sports Business Academy by WHU in the field of football and sports management. After graduation in 2012, Dennis started his career in professional sports at Sportfive, working in Hospitality & Media Sales. After two years Dennis joined the DFL Deutsche Fußball Liga GmbH, which is responsible for organising and marketing German professional football. Since 2015, Dennis is part of DFL’s Audiovusal Rights department and has been appointed to Deputy Head of Audiovisual Rights International in 2020, being jointly responsible for the strategic development of Bundesliga’s International Product Portfolio. Further he orchestrates Bundesliga’s international production and is responsible for the key accounting of Bundesliga’s international media partners.

Alex Sparkes is part of the team responsible for media partnerships, revenue growth and development strategy outside of the USA for WWE. Alex is based in WWE’s London office and has a primary focus on WWE’s international broadcast partnerships across the globe, helping to set the content and platform strategy to maximise value in the evolving broadcast market. The role also involves working closely with teams across WWE, such as Live Events, Marketing, Sponsorship, Consumer Goods and TV Production, to leverage WWE’s IP across all verticals, both D2C and together with partners around the world.
Having joined WWE 2 years ago, Alex previously spent 5 years at the sports streaming business DAZN Group, in a number of roles in the rights acquisition team. Initially in the team focused on long-term global rights partnerships such as FIBA, EHF and CONMEBOL, he moved into the DAZN rights team during the transition from Perform Group. Subsequently, this included a spell living in Tokyo to lead the local rights team for DAZN’s business in Japan, regarded as the largest sports broadcaster in the market and partner to the biggest domestic Japanese and global rights holders.

David Pagán has over 15 years of TV Production experience. Beginning his career and moving up the ranks while at ESPN in Bristol, to being chosen as part of the team to launch the ESPN Los Angeles production facility and produce SportsCenter until later landing with FOX Sports to help launch FS1 in 2013. Now, as Executive Producer with Fubo Sports, David currently leads the Original Content Production team overseeing the creation and execution of all original programming.

Jean Manuel Led content and digital for Concacaf for 6 years prior where he significantly redefined their digital platforms to better connect with the game and fans across the region. He has worked in numerous global tournaments including Copa America, Concacaf Champions League, and Gold Cup.
The Dominican Republic native comes from a solid commercial and business development background, stemming from years servicing brands across the U.S. Hispanic market and Latin America with Mobile Messaging Solutions (MMS), a mobile marketing agency.
Jimenez also worked for OZ Sports leading the commercial department, a broadcast and production company that leverages robotics and artificial intelligence to deliver white label OTT solutions. He holds a degree from State University of New York College at Plattsburgh and lives in Miami with his wife and three kids.
As Production Lead for NBA Asia, Colin oversees the development and execution of original content in the region. This includes creating compelling narratives for NBA owned-and-operated and direct-to-consumer channels as well as content to power various media and marketing partners.
Prior to the NBA, Colin was a studio director for Premier League Productions/IMG in London, having previously worked on the FIFA World Cup, UEFA European Championship, Olympics, Formula 1 and Wimbledon Championships.

David currently spearheads the product development of Rural Media Group’s Cowboy Channel + app and streaming service. Under his guidance, the platform achieved remarkable growth, generating over $14 million in revenue and attracting a subscriber base of over 100,000 in less than four years. He also led teams in creating XR products and experiences for notable clients, including Orion Health, UNMC, NET, and Standard Nutrition.

Prior to LOVB, Karen was General Counsel and EVP, Business Affairs at Tribeca Enterprises, a multi-platform storytelling company established in 2003 by Robert De Niro, where Karen was part of the management team responsible for growing Tribeca from a once-a-year, non-profit event into a network of year-round, for-profit branded entertainment businesses, including the world-renowned Tribeca Film Festival. Karen began her legal career as an associate at a boutique entertainment law firm in New York and spent several years as an associate at leading Silicon Valley law firms where she specialized in handling transactions and operational counselling for clients focused on the cross-section of media and technology.

Anand leads commercial, marketing, branding and fan & athlete engagement as the Head of Growth at the Professional Squash Association (PSA). In this role Anand oversaw the relaunch of the PSA’s OTT platform (SQUASHTV) and securing additional distribution channels for squash content. Prior to joining the PSA, Anand headed up brand and digital at Panasonic, including leading the activation of their Olympic and Team GB sponsorship.

Robbie Spargo is Director of Sport at Little Dot Studios, an award-winning digital content agency and media network headquartered in London. Robbie joined Little Dot Studios in 2017, forging partnerships with The FA and Eurosport to add to a sports portfolio that included (and still includes) the ECB and FIA Formula E. He now oversees a team of 50 people, servicing around 30 retained sports partners with digital strategy, content creation, social management, video distribution, and content monetisation. Starting his career at FremantleMedia, Robbie developed the highly successful YouTube partnership for the global format-owners of The X Factor, Idols and Got Talent in the early years of the platform’s expansion into premium content. He subsequently moved to New Zealand to work at TVNZ, launching TVNZ OnDemand Shorts and running an innovation lab to source new talent, content and distribution channels. He lives in Lewisham with his wife and two young daughters.
Fred Santarpia is a digital media and business transformation expert. He currently serves as president of Endeavor Streaming, where he spearheads the company’s global expansion strategy. Before joining Endeavor Streaming, Fred was chief operating officer at Moda Operandi and, previously, chief digital officer at Condé Nast, where he founded and launched the digital arm of Condé Nast’s entertainment division. Fred was also a founding member of the leadership team at VEVO and served as EVP & general manager. Prior to VEVO, Fred worked at Universal Music Group in a variety of senior leadership roles. Fred is a graduate of Villanova University and holds an M.S. in finance from Boston University. He currently resides in New Jersey.
Patrick leads Sportradar’s streaming business towards sports betting as well as OTT / media industries. As part of this, Patrick manages a team of experienced product managers & video engineers across seven locations. Further he owns the video & live streaming product roadmaps, manages & develops relationships with key clients in the sports betting & OTT space as well as drives Sportradar’s strategic product partnerships in this product segment.
Patrick joined Sportradar in July 2016 while being originally with the sportsman media holding (which became part of the Sportradar group in 2016) since 2014. He previously co-founded fanreport.com – the Austrian sports publisher specialised in grassroots football. He studied Marketing & Communication at the University of Applied Sciences in St.Poelten as well as Marketing & Sales at the Danube Business School and is now active as a lecturer in Digital Business at the University FHWKW in Vienna.

Prior to joining AWS, Julie led Strategy and Business Development for Second Spectrum, the official data analytics partner of the NBA, EPL, MLS, and others. She held similar roles leading business development and driving strategy for ESPN, Sports Illustrated, and CBS Sports Network. Julie holds a BA from the University of Michigan and an MBA from Harvard Business School.

Zehra Betul Ayranci is a Director, Business & Legal Affairs at FOX Sports, overseeing remote operations for the production of global sporting events in soccer, football, baseball, motorsports, rugby, basketball, and more. Prior to her current role, Betul served as the sole legal counsel and main point of contact to FOX’s sports rights acquisitions in Europe, Middle East and Africa, based in Amsterdam, Netherlands. Native of Turkey, Betul has over 12 years of practice experience, as an award-wining lawyer, board member, public speaker, and published author, across five continents, in sports, tech, and scripted and non-scripted entertainment industries. Holding an LL.M. degree with Fulbright Scholarship, Betul is currently pursuing a PhD degree at University of California Berkeley Law with a dissertation on the intersection of law, economics, and policy in the content industries in the digital streaming era.
