OTT Awards 2019 Winners

Tennis TV was the big winner at the inaugural SportsPro OTT Awards as it picked up the top Platform of the Year prize as well as the award for Best in Fan Engagement.

There were big cheers from the ATP Media team as they were commended by the judges for having a great service, with an impressive archive and tech.

Tennis TV delivers in excess of 2,000 live matches annually from all 63 ATP Tour tournaments to fans worldwide, consolidating rights for all ATP Masters 1,000, 500s and 250s tournaments – plus the season-ending Nitto ATP Finals and Next Gen ATP Finals.

For the Fan Engagement prize, judges cited Tennis TV’s social media work and the platform’s willing to engage across a multitude of platforms through its work with LiveWire Sport.

In a similar vein, the award for Best Marketing Campaign went Two Circles for their work on NFL Game Pass Europe.

On a more technical note, Red Bee Media picked up the prize for Innovation of the Year for its technology that can deliver latency of 3.5 seconds for an over-the-top (OTT) feed. More broadly, Deltatre got the Best Tech Company prize, with judges commending the Bruin Sport-owned firm’s well-presented entry.

In the Anti-Piracy category, it was the hometown La Liga that left with the gong. The judges praised the Spanish soccer league body’s own in-house anti-piracy lab and technology tools.

International broadcaster Eleven Sports won the Best Digital First Production award for the broadcaster’s Watch Together, with the panel offering praise for having the KPIs to back up the innovation.

Last but not least, Foxtel’s Kayo Sports platform won Best User Experience with judges describing the service as ‘groundbreaking’ and ‘transformative’.
